The Team from BRM Group with Special Guests the McGonigle Family presenting a cheque for £16,719.63 to Tom McMillan Chairman Pulmonary Fibrosis NI after the very successful ‘Revvv it Up’ tractor pull event ran earlier this year on the 31st of August 2024.

The BRM Group was formed in 2016 as a specialist Utility Infrastructure Services business based at Longfield Road, Eglinton. Operating throughout the UK & Ireland the company decided to organise a corporate event that would make a difference to a local charity and after much consideration the decision was made to support Pulmonary Fibrosis NI.  After a very successful and enjoyable event BRM have confirmed they managed to raise £16,719.63 for Pulmonary Fibrosis NI from their ‘Revvv it Up’ tractor pull event held earlier this year at Ballyguddin Road, Dungiven.

The event focused on the chosen charity Pulmonary Fibrosis NI in honour of local man Gerard McGonigle.  Sadly, Gerard passed away shortly before the event took place, but the local community came out in large numbers to honour Gerard and his family.  The BRM Group invited Gerard’s family to their depot in Eglinton to present the Cheque to Tom & Una McMillan of Pulmonary Fibrosis NI

Tom gave an inspirational update on how the team at Pulmonary Fibrosis support many families in their journey with this illness and confirmed that the money will be used to replace all the windows and doors on a property in Co. Fermanagh at the Lough Erne Resort which will be used as a holiday home for those suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis or families connected with the illness as an opportunity to take a well deserved break.  BRM Group are delighted to learn how the contribution made will make a real difference to people’s lives stated Director Stephen Kealey.

The Revvv It Up Event

‘Revvv it Up ‘24 saw 100 of the best Classic & Modern Tractors coming together to compete in different weight class categories. These tractors came from all over the UK & Ireland to compete in eight different weight classes from 5T to 12T with specialist modified and Pro tractor classes as well as several show pulls.

The sun came out and the different classes went head-to-head.  For the first time Revvv it Up ‘24 saw the introduction of a second sled which doesn’t usually happen at these events.  Much thanks went to Noel Watt and the Gladiator Team and Barry Brolly with the Glenshane Anchor Team who provided the Crowd with a spectacular display of non-stop action tractor pulling all day.  Kenneth & Paula Hegarty co-ordinated the pulling event on the pull track and ensured a very fair competition with support from Eunan Smyth who recorded all pull metres and updated the leader boards throughout the day.

Robert Andrews of Dynamic Audio & Visual provided a superb sound system with a live link of the event going out across the globe.

Many commented at the event they didn’t know what to expect as this type of sport is not that popular in this area, but everyone stayed longer than planned to enjoy what was a truly memorable action-packed family day.

Visitors from all over the UK & Ireland attended the event.  To add further excitement and fun on the day BRM added the Racing Lawnmowers Teams who provided a fantastic display of racing competing in three different classes.

Revvv it Up had a racing competition for many different age groups from the youngest competitors to the Adult races.  A fun children’s activity park coupled with marquees and live music from local country legend Joe Moore entertained the large crowds supported by music from local stars Kevin Burke & Kevin McLaughlin.

Many local businesses sponsored the event and assisted in the planning and event set up.  Our thanks goes out to all businesses, volunteers, community groups, individuals and local sports clubs who came out to support and our further thanks to the event committee including, Pamela Kealey, Ben Kealey, Reece O’Donnell, Vinny Kealey, Peter Kealey, Jason Kealey, Eoin Smyth, Niall Smyth, Eunan Smyth, Roisin Smyth, Bob Smyth, Adam Montgomery, Paul Brady, Siobhan Brady, Johnny Lynch, Gillian Cosby, Luke Bancroft Smith, Berni O’Donnell, Aaron Feeney, Abraham McCauley, Dane Ferry, Paul Doherty, Kyle Horner & Aiden O’Donnell.

‘Revvv it Up ‘25

The BRM Group have confirmed their intentions are to run another ‘Revvv it Up’ event in 2025 on the 23rd August ’25 at Ballyguddin Road, Dungiven.  This event promises to be an ever bigger event and will be a family fun day not to be missed.  The charity will again be Pulmonary Fibrosis and the first pull of the event will be dedicated in the memory of the late Gerard McGonigle.

Tractor Pulling, Racing Lawnmowers, Tug of War, Live Music, Kids Park, Tractor Run and much much more will all be at Revvv it Up ’25.  The BRM Group hope everyone will come out again and make the event another day to remember.

Event details will go out early next year in all Social Medial and local Press.

Till then ‘Revvv it Up’ folks.
